For Neilpryde, it is worth noting that the sails always use Flex-Top masts. Therefore, the sails will not sail as well with any other curve mast. The Neilpryde masts are of high quality and you will notice this in the price. The carbon values start at 65% up to 100%. Especially for the smaller sails, (-5.0m2) without cambers, we prefer to recommend an RDM mast. RDM masts have a thicker inner wall than SDM masts, which makes them stronger. As a result, wave/freestyle windsurfers in particular will use these masts. Although they are also nicer for the average freerider. This is because the battens can pass the mast more easily.

It might be good to know that the 100% masts are recommended, but in the smaller sizes (-4.5), your sail will feel quieter if you take a 90% mast. That said, a 65% mast is also fine, they will be a bit heavier due to the carbion difference. The 100% masts have the advantage that they snap back to their old shape faster in a gust, so this will allow you to get the most out of your sail faster, this often comes with a more expensive price though.

This Neilpryde SDM mast has a carbon percentage of 65% and has a Flex-top curve. The 65% is mainly a budget mast, is a bit heavier and less stiff as a 100%. But will be fine for the average windsurfer!
