This mast is 95cm long, which puts it among the relatively long masts. Longer masts are generally more difficult to sail than a short mast, for this reason that with a long mast, the centre of gravity is higher off the water, making it more difficult to balance. A longer mast does make it easier to sail in choppy conditions. This carbon mast is built with forty layers of pre-preg carbon, hydraulically pressed, heated and fused into one monolithic mast of incredible stiffness. The shape of the mast is also optimised for bending and torsional stiffness. In several tests, this mast, because of its shape alone, is 52% stiffer than a traditional mast.
