3.0 Water hearing protection

Surfing and kitesurfing is fun, and you'd almost think there are no downsides. Yet there is one lurking nasty danger, the surfer's ear also known as swimmer's ear. A surfer's ear or swimmer's ear occurs when your ear canal is exposed to cold water and wind a lot. The combination of water and wind causes a surfer's ear to develop extra quickly. Surfers ear is a physical reaction to protect the ear canal from water and wind. A new bone grows in your ear canal, so to speak, to protect the eardrum. The first symptom is that water often gets stuck in your ear, which is annoying. But it gets more annoying when the symptoms get worse such as often painful infected ears. A surfer's ear can be temporarily removed through surgery but it always comes back and the operation is risky. Therefore, use SurfEars to protect your ears preventively.

Better fit, more comfort

The new 3.0 SurfEars fit even better than previous SurfEars. Because your left and right ear are different, there is now a plug for your left and right ear. This is also clearly shown by the different colours. In addition, the composition of the gel has been adjusted to seal the ear even better from water. An extra size plug has been added to the size chart so now there is an L, M, S and XS plug available. (There are four different sizes in one set)

Reinforced mesh

The mesh that is on the outside of the SurfEars, where the sound goes through and the water does not. It sometimes broke in the 2.0. In the new 3.0 SurfEars, the mesh has been made extra strong with a new construction behind the mesh that prevents you from poking a hole in it with your finger.

Besides the better fit and stronger mesh, there are some other small changes. The string is thicker and therefore stronger. You can also easily take the string off the SurfEars to wear the SurfEars without the string. The packaging has been updated and now has an eco-friendly case with easy magnetic closure.
