The new generation of earplugs for kitesurfing and surfing
Surfing and kitesurfing is fun, and you would almost think there are no drawbacks. Yet there is one lurking danger lurking, the surfers ear, also known as the swimmers' ear. A surfers ear or swimmers ear occurs when your ear canal is exposed to cold water and wind. The combination of water and wind ensures that a surfer's ear can arise extra quickly. Surfer's ear is a physical response to protect the ear canal against water and wind. As it were, a new bone grows in your ear canal to protect the eardrum. The first symptom is that water often lingers in your ear, which is annoying. But it becomes more annoying when the symptoms get worse, such as often infected ears. A surfer's ear can be temporarily removed by surgery but always comes back and the operation is risky. Therefore, use SurfEars to protect your ears preventively.
Better fit, more comfort
The new 3.0 SurfEars fit even better than the previous SurfEars. Because your left and right ear are different, there is now a plug for your left and right ear. This is also clearly visible through the different colors. In addition, the composition of the gel has been adjusted to close the ear even better for water. An extra size plug has been added to the size chart so now an L, M, S and XS plug is available. (There are four different sizes in one set)
The mesh that is on the outside of the SurfEars, where the sound passes through and the water does not. Sometimes it broke with the 2.0. In the new 3.0 SurfEars the mesh is made extra strong with a new construction behind the mesh so that you can no longer poke a hole in it with your finger.
In addition to the better fit and stronger mesh, there are a number of other small changes. The rope is thicker and therefore stronger. You can also easily remove the rope from the SurfEars to wear the SurfEars without one. The packaging has been updated and now has an eco-friendly case with easy magnet closure. Watch the video at the bottom of this page for the explanation of SurfEars itself. Professional surfers and kitesurfers such as Kevin Langeree and Conner Coffin always surf with SurfEars.
