You probably know that wind or kitesurfer who flies over the water with his foilset when there is little wind and nobody else on the water. If you see this and you like it too, then windfoiling is for you! Windfoiling has been around for a long time but the technology has never been taken up. Until now! Big brands see a new future in the foil discipline and are working hard to improve the technology. Therefore windfoil sails have also come on the market, normal sails can also be used for foiling but these sails distinguish themselves by being specifically geared towards foil windsurfing.

The windfoil sails are made considerably lighter so that you can easily elevator the water with your whole set. The windfoil sails have also been given a larger wind range because windfoiling is often done in low winds.

The windfoil sails have their own special twist that makes them unique. Which ones they are we will explain to you further below.

Features of foil windsurfing sails

Windfoil sails - which brands?

The foil windsurfing sails are available at Telstar Surf in different brands. These windsurfing brands are known worldwide for their top quality. Each brand has its own preferences when it comes to the technique that is applied to the sail. One brand thinks that the sail tension should be high while another brand will say that it is not. Therefore, it is important to check our descriptions to see if you agree with the brand on the specifications or not.

Wildfoil sails - which mast?

The foil windsurfing sails can be sailed with either SDM or RDM but please note that this differs per brand and type! Some sails can be sailed with both and others only with one kind of specific mast.

Windfoil sail - which material?

The material from which foil sails are made is monofilm and sailcloth. The foil sails have considerably more monofilm so the sail is lighter and you can see almost anywhere through your sail. The sail fabric is very strong and is therefore placed in the necessary places in the sail.

Windfoil sails - how many battens?

The foil sails have a lot of battens in the sail so there is a lot of stability while windsurfing. This allows you to have better performances to set your own records or even win a race, for example! The battens are also there to strengthen the sail.
