It is essential to have a fin that sheds weed but still lets you exploit the potential of the available flat water and wind ... Tribal Has introduced a totally new concept in seaweed fin design. The Tribal line looks unconventional because of the large curve on the front of the blade. From the direct classic Weed Speed series, they have developed the specialised shallow water range for our riders gifted with access to flat water that is full of shallow seaweed beds.

They have looked at the locations and requirements to suit this style of windsurfem. The challenges included the extra drag and erosion when cutting through seaweed, the shallow surface type, starting in shallow water where the fin is likely to drag along the bottom, and the extreme rake causing problems with balance and power. They designed the fin to take these limitations into account at the same time, and the design shape is unique as a result.

The specially designed foil profile delivers excellent low-end power and resistance to spin-out, with unrivalled recovery behaviour. This means you can use a much shorter fin for the same amount of power, but with dramatically reduced drag and increased control to push at speed. We achieved this despite running extreme slope angles to the tip - higher than other brands, to give you more casting penetration where it counts, with a tip shape that doesn't dig in when you need to start really shallow.
