Kite lines

Are you looking for kitesurfing lines? Look and read which kite lines are suitable for you. It can sometimes happen that your kite lines look less good after a long time. They can start to fray or even break. Prevent them from breaking by maintaining them properly. If you have sailed on salt water, it is always advisable to rinse them with fresh water. This simply makes your kite lines last longer.

What length kite lines are suitable for me?

Kite lines are normally supplied in combination with a kitesurfing bar, but if one or all of the lines break you want to be able to replace them. But now comes perhaps a difficult choice... what length do I need and can I just replace the lines? There are kitesurfing lines from 15 to 30 meters long, so which one is suitable?

In general, kitesurfing bars come with lines of about 22 / 24 meters. To clarify everything we will explain per line length for whom it is suitable:

15 to 19 meter line length:

Are you fanatically launching and do you want to pull the kite under you to the max? Or do you want to receive a fast and direct kitefeeling in strong winds? Then these short lines are yours! Just be aware that the wind window is smaller and you often lose low end power. These line lengths are only sailed by professional kitesurfers.

20 to 24 meter line length:

Looking for all-round kitesurfing lines? Then the 20 t/m 24 lines are ideal! These are almost always supplied with a bar. Beginners, freeriders, freestylers as well as wave riders will benefit the most from these lines. They deliver the best performance between (turning) speed and power.

25 meter + line length:

Are you foiling, lightwind or race kitesurfing? Then these long kite lines are very suitable. Because the lines are so long, the kite is higher in the air. The wind is mostly more stable and you will experience more pressure in the kite. Perfect when the wind is not blowing as hard! However, the kite does not react as quickly, so you need to take this into account when sailing.
