ARE ALL ITEMS IN THE WEBSHOP ALSO AVAILABLE IN THE STORE?

At Telstar Surf we have a wide range of items in stock in the store. It is possible that an item is not in stock at our shop, but is in stock at our supplier. You can see this by the asterisk behind the price in the webshop.

CAN I USE A GIFT CERTIFICATE OF TELSTAR SURF ALSO TO BUY SOMETHING THROUGH THE WEBSITE?

Of course you can! The Telstar Surf gift card can be spent within the entire organization. That means you can use the gift card to purchase new items in the store and online. In addition, do not forget our rental and catering location on the water. Spend your gift card for a new lesson in windsurfing, supping, wingen or kiting or, for example, to rent a new windsurf board or sail. Would you rather enjoy drinks or dinner? Then of course the gift card can be spent in our catering and you can enjoy the sunset at the waterfront.

DOES TELSTAR SURF ALSO DO REPAIRS?

Yes, at Telstar Surf you can have your equipment repaired. At Telstar Surf we provide repairs for boards, windsurfing sails, wetsuits and kites. You can hand in your repair in the shop, preferably clean and dry. Windsurf sails are picked up every Friday evening and are returned to the store by the repairman the following week. Kites and wetsuits are sent to the repair shop daily and usually have a repair time of one working week. The repair time for windsurf boards depends on the damage and the season. You can count on an average repair time of 1 to 2 weeks.

DO I ALWAYS NEED A FIN WHEN WINDSURFING ON BEACH HORST?

You do not always need a weed vane for windsurfing at Strand Horst. From June the weed begins to grow as the water warms up. During the whole summer season you can be bothered by weed. Especially when using fins longer than 30cm. The weed can be really persistent in July and August, so for this period we recommend sailing with a weed fin. At Telstar Surf we have a wide range of weed fins.

CAN I COME TO YOU FOR GOOD ADVICE WHEN I WANT TO START WINDSURFING OR KITING?

Absolutely! Telstar Surf employs experienced wind- and kite surfers who can give you good and honest advice about the articles. Our advice is based on knowledge, experience and customer demand. No sales pitches, but a large selection, beautiful items, honest advice and good quality.

CAN I PERMANENTLY STORE MY BOARD IN A BOARDBAG?

We do not recommend storing your wet board in a boardbag at home. This can lead to moisture blisters under the coating. Use your board bag only during transport to prevent damage. Osmosis blisters are under no circumstances covered by warranty.

CAN I TRADE IN MY OLD BOARD, SAIL OR KITE WITH YOU?

Yes you can. If you are looking for a new board, sail or kite there is a possibility to trade in your old board, sail or kite. The trade-in price depends on the year, condition and type of board, sail or kite you trade in as well as what you buy in return. In general we offer one-to-one trade-in of equipment. You cannot trade in two boards for one new board. Telstar does not buy surfing equipment. For an exact trade-in price we would like to see you and the equipment in our store.

CAN I PARK FOR FREE?

Yes, you can park for free in front of Telstar Surfshop. To get to Telstar Surfschool and Surfclub by car, you have to go through a barrier into the Strand Horst (Leisurelands) area. There is a parking fee on this terrain. There are Leisureland vending machines where you can buy an exit ticket by PIN or cash. Telstar Surf sells an annual parking pass in the Surfshop, which allows you to drive in and out all year long with a pass. When you visit Telstar Surfclub, Telstar Surfschool and Strand Horst more often, this is an advantageous option. For more information also check the Leisurelands website . 

Of course you can also park your car in front of the store. By foot you can reach Telstar Surfschool and Telstar Surfclub in about 15 minutes.

ARE THE OPENING HOURS OF THE STORE THE SAME AS THOSE OF THE SURF CLUB?

No, the opening hours of the shop and the club are not the same. Check the website for the opening hours of the store and the club per month.

CAN I TRY AND TEST EQUIPMENT AT TELSTAR BEFORE I BUY IT?

Yes you can test equipment at Telstar Surf. We have made a selection of the most popular boards, sails and kites that you can test. When testing equipment you pay a small rental fee that will be deducted when you purchase the new equipment. Keep an eye on the website for an update on available testing equipment.

IS A WETSUIT SUITABLE FOR WEARING IN THE POOL?

No, neoprene wetsuits are not suitable for use in the pool. The chlorine causes the wetsuit to discolor and age very quickly. The neoprene can even become so degraded that the wetsuit slowly but surely falls apart. For this reason, we cannot warranty wetsuits that have been worn in the pool.

DO I HAVE TO UNSCREW THE VENT PLUG FROM MY WINDSURFBOARD EVERY TIME?

No, in general you don't have to unscrew the vent plug every time, but unscrewing the vent plug allows your windsurfboard to expand and contract under pressure differences and very high temperatures without damaging your board. Open the plug when transporting by plane or when you go on vacation and drive your car over a high mountain pass. It is also wise to open the plug when leaving your board in the car in hot weather.

I HAVE A WARRANTY CASE, WHERE CAN I GO?

Always report your warranty case via customerservice@telstarsurf.com. Take the following pictures of the defective product:

  • Of the entire product
  • Of the defect
  • Of any serial numbers, type designation, size (For ION wetsuits the C/S number, for O'Neill wetsuits from the white label)
  • Of the purchase receipt or order number, without a receipt we cannot claim warranty

DOES THE OLD TELSTAR STORE STILL EXIST IN HARDERWIJK?

No, the old Telstar in Harderwijk has moved to the current premises along the A28 near Strand Horst since 2010.
