Globe History

Beginning in the mid 1980s with the design, production and distribution of third party brands in Australia with Hardcore Enterprises, Melbourne’s Hill brothers: Stephen, Peter and Matt, created a global boardsports brand of their own, first with shoes for skaters and surfers in the mid 1990s and then with apparel and hardgoods for the broader market.

Today, the same crew of skaters, surfers and snowboarders that started the Globe brand has grown to an international network of designers and riders that are united by boardsports, street culture, media, design and film. With design centres and concept stores in Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast, Los Angeles and Hossegor, Globe is now sold by selected retailers in more than 100 countries worldwide. And we at Telstar Surf are very proud that we are one off those retailers.

Globe Skateboards

The Globe skateboards are made to conquer all the streets, skateparks, swimmingpools and railings out there. A normal (street) skateboard is mainly used to do tricks with. And a true rider makes the whole globe there playground. For them obstacles such as railings, stairs, walls, park benches, picnic tables and other street furniture can be traversed as part of a single trick or a series of successive tricks called a line. The Globe skateboards are perfect for freestyling and having fun. But always be careful with yourself, your gear and the people around you.

Globe Cruisers

A Cruiser is generally a board which is not purpose/built for doing tricks, but rather focused on the actual act of rolling around. The Globe cuisers are the easiest and relaxed boards to go out and make a long distance tour. A cruiser is a perfect board to start your sakteboarding journey with.

Globe Longboards

The Globe longboards are influenced by the surfworld. The boards have the same shape as a wave board and they are a lot longer than a normal streetskateboard. It depends on what style you practice. Some styles (such as freestyle) use more tricks than others. Longboards are mainly used to travel longer distances at a higher speed than with a regular skateboard. Often a longboard also has larger wheels.
