In many local locations, seaweed is a reality. Therefore, it is essential to have a fin that repels seaweed but can still harness the potential of the flat water and available wind. For fins with a straight leading edge, the angle should be set so that seaweed is pulled along the leading edge towards the tip. This ensures that the lifting surface in the tip is well behind the board's centre of gravity (the trim axis). This compromise in balance becomes especially noticeable when sailing upwind or crosswind, where the pressure centre of the fin is too far back for optimal balance with the sail.

Besides the regular WeedSpeed fins, the SuperWeed has been added to the range, specially designed for areas with extremely dense seaweed overgrowth where our regular Weed fin is no longer adequate. The SuperWeed has a more extreme angle in the rake to repel seaweed. The fin has a straighter leading edge to keep the pressure centre as far forward as possible, but maintains an increased minimum rake angle at the head of the fin.
