Find out which size you need in this blog!
A wetsuit is essential for water sports enthusiasts! But choosing the right wetsuit size turns out to be a challenge for many people. In this blog, we’ll explain exactly why fit is so important, what to pay attention to, and how to find your perfect size.

Why is the right size so important?
A wetsuit acts as an insulating second skin. It traps a thin layer of water between your body and the neoprene, which then warms up and keeps you warm. But this only works if the wetsuit fits properly.
- Too big? Too much cold water will flow in, causing you to lose heat.
- Too small? The neoprene will be under tension, which reduces its lifespan and comfort. Your freedom of movement will be restricted, and the wetsuit may even tear more easily.
How do you know which size you need?
The best way to try on a wetsuit is, of course, in our surf shop. Our specialized staff will be happy to advise you on the right size. We pay close attention to the fit around your shoulders, hips, and ankles, so you can hit the water well-prepared.
Not everyone has the opportunity to visit our store. Fortunately, wetsuits can also be easily ordered online. To help you with this, you can use the size chart below. It provides a guideline for choosing the right size, with distinctions between European and US sizes.
Please note: each manufacturer uses its own sizing specifications. On each product page of our website, you'll find the specific size information. For example, differences in shoulder width or leg length. By checking this carefully in advance, you increase your chances of choosing the perfect fit.
In the video below, we explain what to look out for when buying a wetsuit. Want to learn more? Check out our YouTube channel for other helpful Telstar Surftalk videos.
