JP Astralia Slalom
Slalom board
The new Slalom board is designed to sail at PWA competition speeds and maintain control in different conditions. The board has been updated with a completely new shape, based on feedback from the team. The focus was on achieving higher top speeds and improved control. The shaper made three main shape changes: double step cutouts, an increased apex point of the rail from the centre to the nose, and a wider outline at the tail. The double step cut-outs significantly improve control by keeping the water flow under constant control and reducing drag. In addition, the cutouts make the rails thinner, making it easier for the board to lean up and initiate. With these improvements, both lighter and heavier riders can maintain control even at high speeds and heavy wind conditions. The goal is to be able to jib at full speed and hold that speed at every gybe mark.
