Good old Robby Naish was born on April 23, 1963 in La Jolla, San Diego, California. Robby Naish is one of the first top wind surfers since the existence of windsurfing with a long-standing international reputation in sport.

At a young age, the Naish family moved from California to Kailua on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Robby's father, Rick Naish, was a competition surfer and surfboard shaper. At the age of 11, young Robby Naish started the new popular windsurfing sport and two years later, at the age of thirteen, earned his 1st World Cup title. Since that time, Robby Naish has won everything in windsurfing whatever there is to win. He became famous for his tabletops and forward runs, among other things. In the nineties kitesurfing developed on Hawaii. As an all-round sportsman on the water, Robby Naish also won some world titles in kite surfing.

If you've ever been to Robby's homespot Maui, you'll start to understand what the surf and kitem brand stands for: sustainability! Surf gear must survive in the bizarre circumstances on Maui. Naish surf gear is made to survive these circumstances. In addition to sustainability, everything is also geared to control. The circumstances are sometimes difficult, so control over your surf gear is an absolute must. Robby Naish will always continue to pursue this philosophy, until he himself stops surfing.

Robby Naish was one of the first to realize on Maui that kite surfing would become a big thing. For him, it was a good reason to fully focus on Naish's kitesurfing gear, as he intended to become one of the biggest kitesurfing brands. Just like with Naish windsurfing, he follows a set course that rests on sustainability. His backyard 'Maui' also plays a major role in the entire R&D process at Naish kitesurfing.
