SPX65 RDM

It is good to know that Neilpryde sails always use Flex-Top masts. The sails will therefore feel lesser with a different curve masts. The masts from Neilpryde are of high quality and you will notice that in the price. The carbon values start from 65% to 100%. Certainly for smaller sails, (-5.0m2) without cambers, we prefer to recommend an RDM mast. The RDM poles have a thicker inner wall than the SDM poles, therefore they are stronger. Because of this, mainly wave / freestyle wind surfers will use these masts. Although they are also lighter for the average freerider. This is because the cambers are easier to move past the mast.

It may be good to know that the RDM 100% masts are recommended, but in the smaller sizes (-4.5), your sail will feel calmer if you take an RDM 95% mast. This does not mean that a 65% mast is way worse, they will be a bit heavier due to the carbion difference. The 100% masts have the advantage that they jump back faster to their old shape in a flurry, so you will be able to get the most out of your sail faster, this often comes with a more expensive price.

This Neilpryde RDM mast has a carbon percentage of 65% and has a Flex-top curve. The 65% is mainly a budget mast, is somewhat heavier and less stiff than a 100%. But will be fine for the average windsurfer!
